Free wellness classes at the AIA Vitality Park – a quick guide

As part of AIA’s brand promise to help individuals live healthier, longer better lives, the AIA Vitality Park at the Hong Kong Observation Wheel offers a range of regular free wellness classes and sporting activities. This article will help you get prepared and give you a few tips on how to get the most of your experience when joining one of our classes.

Book your class online

All available classes can be found on our website and they all have descriptions and intensity ratings ranging from Low to High, to help you decide on which class best suits you. Check the page regularly as new classes are continually added, and some of our popular classes fill up fast.

Preparation

An email reminder will be sent out to all registered participants a day before the class is scheduled: this email will provide final confirmation on whether the class will be going ahead or whether it will be rescheduled. If in doubt, reach out to us on [email protected] for an update.

Additionally, while the majority of our sports classes are bi-lingual (English and Cantonese), there are occasions when they will be exclusively in a particular language – in this case, it will be noted on the registration page, class details, and email reminder.

Check your email on the day before the class

An email reminder will be sent out to all registered participants a day before the class is scheduled: this email will provide final confirmation on whether the class will be going ahead or whether it will have to be rescheduled for any reason include heavy rain as some classes happen in the outdoors.

If on the day of your class the rain is particularly heavy or there is a dangerous weather warning, you will receive an email notification that the class will be cancelled. If in doubt, reach out to us on [email protected] for an update.

Suitable sports attire is recommended

Comfortable clothing is recommended for all sessions as the classes are held outdoors and will involve some physical activity. Depending on the intensity of the class, you may decide on what you feel will be comfortable gear to wear, however, light clothing such as shorts, yoga pants, t-shirts, and sports shoes are generally the preferred option. There is currently not any facilities to shower or change at the venue.

Pack some essentials

While you don’t specifically need any particular items to take part in our classes as usually all equipment is provided unless otherwise stated, there are a few things that will make the overall experience more pleasant and enjoyable. Here’s what we would recommend:

  •       Towel to wipe up signs of your hard work
  •       Filled water bottle to help you stay hydrated
  •       Jumper or jacket in case it gets cold or windy during cooler months

Arrive at the park early

Try to arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of the class and make your way towards the Sports Hub at the Northern end of the venue. Look for the Hong Kong Observation Wheel staff wearing the official black polo shirt uniform who will take your attendance. Make sure you have your confirmation email ready for them to scan.

During the class

All our classes are conducted by experienced and certified fitness trainers. Remember to follow all their instructions carefully. If at any time you feel unwell or something isn’t right, take a break and catch your breath, and if you still feel unwell alert a member of staff. Most importantly, while your workout is meant to help you achieve your health goals, it is also important to have fun and enjoy yourself.

After the class

After all physical activity, it is always a good idea to hydrate so drink plenty of water. Do feel free to stay at the park, do some more stretching or enjoy some of the food and beverage on offer.

If you had a good time and enjoyed the class, then be sure to follow the Hong Kong Observation Wheel & AIA Vitality Park on Facebook and Instagram to see our latest promotions and offers.
